Doctor of Ministry Degree Course

List of Subjects and Subject Information

DM.701 INTRODUCTION TO ORIGINS - Credit Units = 3
This subject provides Bible answers to a questioning world: Who am I; why am I; where did I come from? Humanistic sources fail to answer because they do not have the answer. The Bible has the answer, and again displays the superiority of revelation and faith. In the Genesis Record is found the divine order of the universe - never intelligently contradicted. A most important study.

DM.702 (A-G) BIBLICAL OVERVIEW - Credit Units = 5
The study of the Seven Dispensations and the Eight Covenants is foundational to biblical theology, doctrine and philosophy. It gives one a general, `bird's eye view' of God and his eternal immutable plan for man and the universe. This study begins and ends with time as a parenthesis within eternity. This subject will give structure to all biblical subjects, ranging from Origins to Eschatology.

DM.702 (H) DISPENSATIONAL THEOLOGY
Credit Units = 6
Theology or dispensational teaching is an analysis of the subject from the standpoint of biblical theology. It will disclose the similar thinking of the Early Church Fathers with documentation. It will refute the adverse contentions of those who teach otherwise, and have made unfounded attacks and misrepresentations, against this clear presentation of God's immutable, eternal plan for mankind and the universe.

DM.703 DOCTRINE I - Credit Units = 5
Theology/Doctrine (teachings) is a systematic teaching of the Holy Bible arrived at by both synthetic and analytical methods. These studies are limited to those subjects more prominently used by the Pentecostal movements. These studies are often referred to as the `Great Doctrines' of the Bible, or principles of faith.

DM.704 DOCTRINE II - Credit Units = 5
This subject continues the study of Doctrine I by studying the following five doctrines: The Holy Spirit; Divine Healing; The Church; Angels; Last Things.

DM.705 ESCHATOLOGY - THE NATIONS - Credit Units = 3
In this study of `Last Things' regarding the nations, we will consider the Great Tribulation, which culminates with the holocaust of Armageddon and completes the judgment of the nations. Some nations will survive and function during the Millennium; others will not. This study gives attention to Israel's neighboring nations especially.

DM.706 ESCHATOLOGY - ISRAEL - Credit Units = 3
Israel is a central, focal subject between nations and eschatology. To understand prophecy, it is necessary to see the Church, the Gentile Nation, and Israel in biblical perspective. This is one part of the eschatological triad.

DM.707 ESCHATOLOGY/THE CHURCH - Credit Units = 3 This study enlarges on the subject of the Church, and more importantly, on its origin and future Rapture. This study is valuable for it helps one to see the purpose of God's plan in clearer perspective as the sequential order of events unfolds.

DM.708 THE HISTORY OF THE CHURCH IN AMERICA
Credit Units = 4
This advanced study is important to know the unique and indispensable role Christ's Church has had in America's founding and continuance. The true view and spirit of the history of the Church in America is vital to maintain our religious identity and purposes.

DM.709 THE HISTORY OF THE CHURCH IN AMERICA II
Credit Units = 4
This subject continues the advanced study of the history of the Church in America (MA.4). It picks up in the first century of the unfolding saga of the United States of America, revealing facts deliberately skipped by secular textbooks, and most important to those who want to know the untold story of the real Christian principles as set forth by the Bible.

DM.710 SOCIOLOGY IN BIBLE TIMES - Credit Units = 4
The people, places, institutions, enterprises and communities of biblical times were different from those of modern times, and even more so in comparison to our Western World. Scriptures that refer to life, etc., must always be interpreted in their relative significance to biblical antiquity. This assistance helps the teacher/preacher to correctly understand the Bible,  and how to interpret it in a relative way today.

DM.711 BIBLICAL MORAL STANDARDS
Credit Units = 4
As we close this twentieth century, ministers, teachers and Christian counselors are faced with a large and varied list of ethical questions and moral issues for which they are expected to give biblical answers. This study deals with commandments, commissions and mandates of the Holy Bible. The Christian must make God's voice, in these matters, heard loud and clear.

DM.712 PASTORAL COUNSELING - Credit Units = 4
In this course the student will gain an insight into the rich theological framework that supports and directs a biblical approach to counseling. Connecting biblical doctrine with practical living.

DM.713 THE PREACHING PLAN - Credit Units = 3
Preaching should be the main work of the person called by Christ for that purpose. One has said, ". . . plan your work and then work your plan." It is important to know when to preach and what to preach. Strong churches are products of strong pulpits. Plan on your knees, as well as in your study, and see that each plan is subject to change without prior notice, as the Holy Spirit leads.

DM.714 THE MINISTER AND HIS PRIVATE DEVOTIONS
Credit Units = 3 Above all else in a minister's life should be his attention to his private devotions with God. These should begin and end with prayer. Many have been shipwrecked in their spiritual experience by deceptively believing that good ministering to others will keep them close to God.

DM.715 PENTECOSTAL ROOTS - Credit Units = 4
This subject requires research, heavy written work with heavy documentation on the history of Pentecostal outpourings accompanied by tongues, signs, wonders, miracles and gifts of the Holy Spirit; and the impact upon the Christian Church and the world in general at that time and now.
